Engraving FAQs

A classic bone-shaped dog ID tag in genuine brass, with a warm gold finish that looks smart on any collar. It is laser engraved on both sides, so you have room for your contact details on one side and your dog's name or a note like "Microchipped" on the other.

Everything included in the price

Free double-sided engraving: crisp, deep laser engraving, centred for easy reading
Free standard postage: we engrave and dispatch from our office in Kent
Free strong brass split ring to attach the tag securely to your dog's collar
5-year guarantee against breakage and fading of the engraving

Choose your size

Small: for dogs up to 10kg. 31mm x 21mm, 1.9mm thick, 8 grams. A popular choice for puppies, dachshunds, cavapoos and Cavalier King Charles spaniels.
Large: for dogs over 10kg. 40mm x 27mm, 1.9mm thick, 12 grams. A larger engraving area makes your details easier to read at a glance, ideal for Labradors, spaniels, shepherds and other medium to large breeds.

Why brass?

Brass is a heavier metal with a traditional look, and it develops a gentle patina over time. It is a good choice for dogs who stay mostly on dry land.

Caring for your brass tag

Brass oxidises if it gets wet often, so this tag is not suitable for dogs who swim or spend a lot of time in water. If your tag gets wet, wipe it clean and dry it to keep it looking its best. For water-loving dogs, try our stainless steel pet ID tags.

What to engrave

In the UK, the Control of Dogs Order 1992 requires your dog's collar tag to show your name and address. Most owners also add a phone number. Not sure what to include? Read our dog ID tag engraving guide.

Nice tag, very clear engraving, super quick delivery. Just the right size for a cavapoo.

Very decent quality item, delivered very quickly. No issues at all.

Speedy delivery. Good quality dog tags, very pleased. A* Thanks !

Clear and perfect !

Nice and sturdy tag with all correct information. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because the ends of the bone shape are slightly cut off and not perfectly rounded. Not an issue, but not absolutely perfect.
Still does a wonderful job and I would buy from here again!

A quality brass dog tag - better than I was expecting.

Didn't last very long it broke

Small is just a perfect size for our Cavalier.

Beautiful brass dog tag. The engraving is perfect and easy to read. Looks very smart on my dogs collars.

The wording was all over on one side

Exactly how described

Fabulous. Small enough to not get in the way, but big enough to include all relevant information.
